Before becoming a doula, I had my heart set on becoming a labor and delivery nurse. However, about a year and a half into the nursing program I was enrolled in, I realized that path wasn’t going to fulfill my true desire—to support women through labor in a more personal, continuous way. So, I changed course and began pursuing doula work instead.
In January 2022, I completed a birth doula training course through DONA International. After a long but incredibly rewarding journey, I officially became a certified birth doula in May 2025.
Since beginning my work as a doula, I’ve learned so much about what it means to be an advocate and a steady, compassionate presence throughout the labor process. I know there’s still more to learn, but I’m deeply grateful for the experiences I’ve had so far—and I look forward to continuing to grow and support families through one of life’s most transformative moments.
