As your due date approaches, I will go "on call" for you and will only be a phone call away from coming to your side to assist you. I will officially be on call for you starting 2 weeks before your due date and extending 2 weeks past your due date. However, even if I am not on call for you, you can still contact me with any questions or concerns you may have!
Typically, labor begins slowly, and you will be able to cope on your own with your partner for a while. During this time, you can always reach out for advice, tips, or anything else you might need. When your contractions become too strong for you to bear with only your partner's support, I will join you and be at your side through the remainder of your labor, delivery, and for an hour or two after delivery to make sure you get settled in with your little one.
While you are in labor, my goal is to keep you calm and as comfortable as possible. To achieve this, I will utilize comfort measure that are geared towards relieving the pressure of contractions and helping baby to move through the birth canal as smoothly as possible. Some comfort measure include, but are not limited to: using a birthing ball; utilizing water; massage; using a rebozo; and frequent position changes.
Feel free to reach out, and I will contact you as soon as possible!
